Rhea Varghese

Ms. Varghese joined the firm after completing a federal clerkship with the Honorable Janis Graham Jack of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Her assignments focused primarily on the civil-rights class action lawsuit M.D. v. Abbott, which seeks dramatic reformation of Texas’ child welfare system.  She also worked on a variety of post-judgment motions in numerous criminal matters.

Ms. Varghese graduated from South Texas College of Law in 2023 where she served as a member and Articles Editor for South Texas Law Review.  She received the Hyman L. Slohm Memorial Scholarship, and is a member of the Order of Lytae.  Ms. Varghese was named to the Dean’s List every semester and received CALI awards for Mediation Theory & Practice and Criminal Law.  During law school, Ms. Varghese also served as a judicial intern for Justice Longoria on the Texas Court of Appeals, Thirteenth District and participated in the Houston Volunteer Lawyers’ Medical Legal Partnership with Texas Children’s Hospital to serve and represent children and adults with disabilities seeking guardianship.
