Ms. Tennis joined the firm following a federal clerkship with the Honorable John W. deGravelles of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana. As a law clerk, Avery’s work assignments involved both criminal and civil cases, and addressed a wide variety of pre-trial and post-trial motions for civil cases involving contracts, insurance disputes, personal injury, admiralty and maritime law, antitrust litigation, employment, constitutional violations, and consumer protection laws.
Ms. Tennis earned her Juris Doctor and Graduate Diploma in Comparative Law from the Louisiana State University Law Center in 2022, where she served as a member of the Board of Advocates Honor Organization, obtained a Graduate Certificate in Energy Law and Policy, and was elected to the Order of the Coif.
